Diving into Marine Geoscience

About Yu & his blog

I am a PhD student in Marine Geophysics at GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, Germany. My PhD project, which started in September 2019, is on the structural and tectonic characterization of oceanic transform faults. I use three primary tools in investigating the mechanics of oceanic transform faults: geomorphology, seismology, and numerical modelling. Within the current phase of my project, I am using bathymetric data to identify structural variations in transform fault morphologies globally.

I am passionate about sharing my experiences and thoughts during conducting marine geophysical research, and that is why this blog was created.
